Firstly Olivier, Tom and I (Deborah) want to send a personal message to all our guests, some old friends and some new ones from our 2024 season, what a pleasure it was to meet you all and to be able to show you France as we know it. We are looking forward to welcoming some of you back to the C’est La Vie in 2025 and in 2026.

C’est La Vie Engine rebuild

Even though the 2024 season ended at the end of October, our work on the C’est La Vie is still on going, to ensure many more years of happy cruising we are totally renewing the engine and its systems, making the C’est La Vie as environmentally friendly as possible. Our commitment to our future clients and to the planet, means with our new engine we will produce less pollution, ensuring smoother cruising for all.

We are looking forward to our next season 2025 and some of the same crew will be with us. Tom our Captain, Carrie our boatman (girl), our chef Juliette, (I am sure she is researching new recipes as we speak) and our hostesses Heloise and Aloise will be back for part of the season. Of course, Olivier and I will be turning up from time to time to help when needed, or just to spend time with some of our returning passengers and meeting new ones.

Notre Dame Cathedral Restoration

I am sure many of you will have seen the reopening of Notre Dame on your TV’s, and I am sure many of you will remember that fateful day when 5 years ago we thought we would lose this remarkable piece of French culture for good. The work of the fire brigade, police and teams of workers inside and out who braving the flames sent hours rescuing the priceless paintings, sculptures, and artifacts on the night of the fire, need our eternal gratitude. But one cannot forget the 2,000 plus carpenters, sculptures, restorers and many other tradesmen and women who have spent the last 5 years putting it all back together again. So why not come and see it in all its splendour in person next year, spend a few days in Paris before or after a trip on the C’est La Vie.

With the holiday season fast approaching and our plans well in order to spend time with family and friends, our thoughts go out to all our clients past, present and future, we wish everyone a happy and healthy festive season and a prosperous 2025.

Deb, Olivier and Tom.
